Easter in Christian church is main celebration of the liturgical year. It falls in spring, in fact falls on first Sunday after full moon round about spring equinox. and is all about New Life beginning. A new year of sorts Very much in line with nature. Very interesting article though

As correct as all of this is, it's rather interesting you would omit (completely) mentioning the Christian celebration of Easter, which as we know combines traditional spring celebrations with commemorating the Resurrection of Christ. This was much more important than the Julian/Gregorian new year for most of Europe until the modern era.

Europe and Western Asia are much closer than many think

The West likes to bulldoze everyone with their superiority. But spring is the season of regrowth - as celebrated in China, Iran, etc etc. It's a beautiful picture, too.
